Yes, so many seaside towns are ruined by all the amusement arcades and funfairs along the seafront...fine for the big resorts but even little ones like Barmouth are spoilt by the noise.I like Aberdovey in mid Wales, not an amusement arcade in sight!!

Feel like flying the flag for Cromer in Norfolk, visited in summer 2011, some lovely walks on the Norfolk Coastal path towards Sheringham.

I am biased but Scarborough and Whitby are beautiful, tourists dont explore, they just walk up and down the front, hence arcades, noise, seagulls stealing food etc. I love the seaside in winter the sea is beautiful and there are no tourists !! I agree Cromer is beautiful too.

Childhood memories of Scarborough, we used to go every year. Please don't take this the wrong way but Blackpool too, I know what some may be thinking but the same I have good memories as a kid but I know it doesn't have the beauty and grace of other places.

I used to go to Blackpool for a lot of years on holiday as a child and thought it was fantastic. That was before everyone started going aboard.... jetting off to spain and that unfortunately was the decline of the british seaside.
I also spent many happy holidays with my parents at great yarmouth another lovely seaside place.......happy and simply days!!!

For me it has to be Bantham in South Devon. Just across from Burgh Island where Agatha Christie used to write. Lovely beach and a great walk along the South Devon coastal path. Stay in the Sloop Inn and enjoy some great seafood.

I personally love Kent.
My auntie lives in Broadstairs and so I usually go down there in August: There's the main ones such as Margate and Ramsgate and then there's the bays such as Joss Bay and Botany Bay.

Well it's lovely to hear that Cornwall is well liked, I, living in St Austell, quite near to Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey, don't always appreciate just what I have on my doorstep. Making me change my mind about going back to live nearer my family in Manchester....Ooh I do also love Scotland, Kirkudbright was a place I remember taking holidays back in the late 80's, fond memories...
I also forgot to mention, 'Robin Hoods Bay' in Yorkshire, Brilliant holiday there one time!

I love practically all the resorts on the east coast of Yorkshire. In particular though Scarborough, whitby and the lesser known Cayton bay. Lovely beaches. I'd love to have my own caravan/holiday apartment somewhere there so I can visit and stay all year round!

I have an idea: why don't we all go on an FFF Seaside Crawl?! It's a popular topic and we could be busy and have fun for ages.
Ahemm, getting serious now: I enjoy ammonite hunting on the Jurassic Coast, South Dorset.
