Does anyone between Brum and London want to go and see Whitesnake, Saxon, Def Leppard that sort of thing? I am ok to travel anywhere between the Brum area and London when a gig comes up. So make a note of my username if you are interested. I am afraid I would regard Iron Maiden as fake metal

Real metal was born and died with Rainbow, maybe Deftones??

I think we're confusing our metal and hard rock here people and there was never anything fake about Maiden in the 80s.

I quite agree, Limpbizkit are fake, as are Linkin Park, but not Maiden

couldnt agree more! Every time I see Limp Bizkit on tv I just want to punch Fred Durst - I dont know why, he just brings it out in me. I don't have similar hatred for Linkin Park, and I think their first album (Hybrid Theory, I think) was good, but nothing since then.

Indeed. I do like a bit of glam/shock rock which is how I would class the likes of saxon and whitesnake - but Maiden are definately metal and definately not fake!
