I love walking my dog, even though she is tiny, she absolutely loves it and i love to see her so happy! She is a Shih Tzu and we live in Hampshire.
Sussexlass, my mum found this with one of her dogs, sounds silly, but as soon as the dog had a harness put on her she was fine. Other than that my only suggestions would be distraction methods - toys, treats, low music. You can get seatbelt attachments for the harnesses which might make him feel more secure in the car. If all else fails you can get something called DAP from pet shops (it's a natural pheromone spray that the mother emits when the puppies are born) which you can spray around the area he will be in which is supposed to calm them down. Hope that helps!

I have a beagle that has been car sick from his first ever trip and no distracting will help. As you can imagine we are very good walkers and go off for miles to have some variety!
I had never heard of DAP and will get some of that and fumigate the car back seat. Will let you know if he volunteers to jump into the car! Thanks for the tip.

I love walking my 2 little dogs (a chihuahua cross peke and a cairn cross), despite being small they can do pretty long walks, so if anyone in the Westhoughton (Bolton) area is interested in meeting up for walkies we would be very interested!

Happy Christmas to all those happy dog walkers
The pleasure you get from walking your pet is marvellous and a real tonic and good for your health what could be better medicine than that
