Ooooh ... "To kill a mockingbird" is a great novel; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I've fairly recently finished reading "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka which was poignant and thought provoking but very engaging from start to finish. I am hoping to read next The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky which I'm looking forward to as it is a well recommended novel ... I will let you know what I think of the read one day in the future but not any time soon as it is nearly a 1000 pages long ...!

No I don't think War and Peace is daunting there are a lot of characters in the book and maybe it seems daunting because of the subject matter and number of pages, Give it a go GeorgeT you may enjoy. I can't recommend anything on Henry though. Happy reading

Hi Katlou, I've read Lucy Diamond 'Sweet Temptations', also like Sophie Kinsella, in fact anything in that style, just easy going, humourous escapism !!

Thank you smileymo! I also wish you [and everybody who enjoys reading] many happy hours of pleasurable reading. Tolstoy yeah, he's a fab novelist, so much richness and depth to his character which is clearly reflected in his writings. I would also like to read War and Peace at some point; I read Anna Karenina during one winter and it was a novel I found impossible to put down! |

Hey Gabriel14, that's definitely not easy reading! How are you finding it? I read "The Power of Now" andn its effect actually made me live more in the here and now than in the past or daydreaming in the future, although I was a bit disappointed about the book outlining this idea somewhere in chapter two or so very much at the beginning and then the rest of the book didn't really add anything new.
I have not read "The Soulmate Secret" which appears to be based on "the law of attaction" and I am a bit suspicious of all these long words that appear to be coined by a marketing person. Would you recommend it? |
